2000 ~ 2005
Flash you were no angel
But a blessing in disguise
You saw all around you
With honest doggie eyes

You watched over Alexander
With gentle loving care
Held him still with  paw on his chest
To ensure he stayed right there

Warning us on each occasion
That he was in harms way
So that we could fix the problem
You really saved the day.

To Cassie you gave your friendship
When she felt that she couldn't complain
About her frustrations and her anger
Her sadness and her pain

You gave her confidence
To develop hobbies new
She'd happily enter a show ring
Partnered just by you.
You supervised young puppies
Following where they led
Kept them out of danger
They even shared your bed.

The older generation loved you
And you seemed to understand
That kind and gentle manners
Got a biscuit from the hand

Strangers young and old adored you
They would often spend the time
Stroking your soft and furry head
You thought that was just  fine

You taught us many things
About Belgians and their ways
Often gave us the "you're stupid" look
From a superior Belgian gaze

So many things you taught me
Before we said goodbye
Like patience is a virtue
And that good friends never die.
