Welcome to Everquest & Teamterv, the people who are owned by their Belgians.
Teamterv are actually three generations of one family, my parents John and Bernie, my sister Karen, my husband Dominic and myself (Helen) and our children, Cassie and Alex.. Not forgetting Grace who joined the family and was pretty much adopted last year by the boys. She is a very valued member of the team.
I was introduced to my first Belgian Shepherd Tervueren in 1985.
Amber was a rescue from Battersea Dogs Home who was brought to Derby by his new forever family. He adored kids, was stunning and smart......and I was hooked although it would take another 16 years before I got one of my own.
In 2001, chance gave me the opportunity to acquire Flash and I jumped at it, with the family following behind. He was the steepest learning curve we ever had and our introduction to the crazy world of dog showing.
Having had some success in the show ring, we decided to bring another Tervueren into the family. Circumstances actually gave us two brothers, a grey and a red.
The grey lad went to live with my parents. Tial’q and Jasper were like chalk and cheese,
giving us a new insight into Belgians and thus Everquest was born.
Matisse joined in September 2002, co owned with his breeder, Mandy McLaren.
It didn’t just stop at dog showing, Flash became a therapy dog, and all the boys took part in a fundraising walk. Where we went, so did the dogs. We lost Flash due to an acute illness in August 05. The house was empty without him. Phoenix joined in Sept 05 and has many of Flash’s little habits. Finally, an opportunity came to mate to Flash’s sister. The mating was successful and in May 06 Remus joined us.
Everquest’s second generation had arrived linking back to both Flash and Matisse.
Matisse surpassed all of our hopes and dreams of a show dog and opened the door to Europe and new friends. He returned from the French show unwell and despite all medical efforts died 25 September this year. He was and will be unforgettable.
The Everquest affix was created in 2004 as an acknowledgement of all the hard work that all the family members had put in, Teamterv is the human side of Everquest.
And so we go on, ever questing for new things to do, new places to go and new goals to achieve. Where you see the Everquest name, some of Teamterv are not far behind.
